I brought a wireless charger kit from AliExpress.

Very impressed with the quality and the packaging.

Easy to fit too. Unclick the gaitor and remove clip from gearknob.

Unclip the gear shift panel (tools provided).

Disconnect the cables.

Unclip the original phone bay and disconnect cables.

Remove, 12v socket, USB and clips from original and fit to new one.

Plug in the the link and reassemble.

Job done 👍🏻

I have a phone holder / wireless charger, about £20 from Amazon. I cut off the windscreen mount and screwed it to the vertical bar beside the stereo (RAV4.3) so the phone is safely visible and usable as satnav. The cable runs behind the dash down to the cubby where it comes out and plugs into the lighter socket as usual. Very happy with it.

Great stuff. Looks pretty oem too which I like.

Do you have a link to that one?

Cheers,

Ha, I was wondering who would be brave enough to buy one! (I buy huge amounts of stuff on Aliexpress but its not for the faint hearted), I would have done this if my car wasn't on a short lease. Good work.

That's what I liked about it. I know what you mean about the gamble, paid off this time.

Can you use one usb for apple car play and the other for music on a usb stick?

I have checked, the extra usb is just that, no connection to the head unit

HI, I hope you guys don't mind me jumping in on this thread. I am new here and have just posted my first post regarding USB and Anrdoid Auto here: https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/194638-usb-question-allocation-rav4/  ---

I have not purchased my RAV4 yet and have worked a deal out with my local dealership for a Dynamic with a couple options.  However, a serious concern (for me anyway); is that I can't use a Ipod touch (all of my sounds are on there) plugged in and Android Auto (phone Galaxy S20) at the same time - to use AA the phone has to be plugged in (bandwidth issues). It was suggested on my original thread that I could use a USB hub - I was thinking of adding a splitter - has anyone tried this?

It seems kind of backward that there would be only one USB port actually working with the main console head unit. Has anyone seen behind the unit if there is a way of attaching a further USB port (thinking the one in the central storage area) to it?

I have not yet given the go-ahead for the final purchase yet while I try and sort out these issues.

Oh, and what's up with nto adding wireless charging on the UK models?

Thanks
