Yaris engine sump plug?

2004 1.3 T Spirit. I am in the process of changing the engine oil on the Yaris but there does not seem to be a copper or fibre washer on the sump plug. Is that correct? I do not have the handbook or user manual to hand. Thanks, then I can put some oil in!

Definitely should have a fibre washer, Toyota part # 90080-43037

Some replacement bolts have the washer on the bolt aka built in

Yeah should have a washer (unless the washer is built-in as per the post above). I use the sump plug and washer from Euro Car Parts (has a copper washer) and it always works well.

There should be a washer (genuine washers are rubber coated aluminium), also check that it's not stuck to the sump.

Might be worth investing in a magnetic sump bolt while you are at it.

I have always used fibre washers when changing on my previous Mk1 '98 leanburn and my current Valvematic engine. never had a problem except, when I realise there was a fibre washer when I first started doing the old Avensis oil change. I didn't change it for a couple of changes and it never leaked. But then it needed replacing, so i tried a copper washer. It leaked so I sourced fibre washers and never had a problem since. I have about 20 or more, enough for plenty of oil changes. I got them via eBay.
