At least not having one means you don’t have to pay to replace it if it’s falling off. 
 

on another car I had it cost me £100 for a new cover just because it was dropping down and couldn’t be fixed up.

I removed mine over a year ago when I had to replace one of the windscreen washer NR valves. I've not noticed anything different and the car has been through a service and an MoT without comment.

Mind you the MoT didn't pick up on the driver's side washer being weak to the point of non-existent (the replacement failed within three months). I've since replaced it again but the new replacement isn't very good. It's an aspect of the car that I feel needs a redesign.
