Annoying intermittent starting problem RAV4

Looking for advise, I have a 2006 RAV4 XT3, I have a problem with it, where some days it just turns over and will not fire up.

Once its fired up, it runs fine and starts again no problem, but the odd day (once a week now!) it will just turn over and over and not fire.

I have a work around in place when when this problem happens, if I pop the bonnet and pump the black fuel primmer button it will then start.

So I guess on odd days when the car is stood it looses fuel pressure some how,  so no fuel to fire it and kick it into life is not present where it should be and pumping it fixes it. Thats my thoughts!.

I also get the 4x4 check light and engine managment light popping on most of the time when this happens.

All the seals in the injectors have been replaced the fuel regualtor has been replaced. Also Battery and starter motor along the  way have been replaced as it was not turning over as quick as it should according to one garage.

When ever I take it to the garage the codes they get are for the EGR valve, which has been cleaned, replaced with a new one, replaced again with a genuine second user part it made no difference.

No sure what to check next or look for. Any thoughts anyone.

Fuel filter may be blocked?

If you are having to prime the filter then the car starts its likely the diaphragm in the primer has failed, there is no in tank pump only suction from the high pressure fuel pump and the primer acts as a non return valve keeping fuel up at the pump
