Modified insurance

so I have a 2011 hilux and I've started doing some small mods to it. LED lights, nudge bar, better alloys. But now I don't seem to be able to get insurance. Most places tell me its a VAN and want business rates of insurance. Any help

Technically it isn't a car. Also could be regarding the nudge bar that you're having difficulty, as these cause additional injuries if you hit a pedestrian, etc.

I bought a 2010 invincible late December last year. I couldn't get "car" insurance through the usual comparison sites. It was very easy to get it through van comparison sites and actually worked out alot more reasonable than I thought, only £30 more than the jeep I had just sold.  All the questions were aimed at a business user though. No thought that people might actually just want a hilux for leisure purposes. Kept asking if I kept stock in it and had signage on it 🤣🤣

Just bought a 96 Surf and as with Spiker got no options from standard comparison sites. Gave Adrian Flux a call and had 4x4 insurance with a litany of mods listed all sorted in half an hour.
Called off of a recommendation and I'll be passing it on.
