Name Translations....

A while ago there was a post about why the cars were called what they were, I just came accross this for the Celica and thought it might be of interest...

The Celica is named after the witch Sarina who rode a dragon.

A stylised dragon forms the Celica symbol.

The name "Sarina" is similar to the name "Carina" which was made on the same production line.

Celica is also a North European name meaning heavenly (celestrial).

Japanese say See-Lee-Ka.

Australians say See-Lee-Ka (also Silly Car).

Americans say Sell-i-Ka.
