Avensis with a BMW engine, service query

Hi there.

Does anyone know why my 2017 Avensis 2.0 Ltr diesel business edition needs a full service each year instead of 

1 Full service then 1 intermediate service on alternate years as normal.

Is it because it has a  BMW 2L diesel engine, if so why.?  Reading many things and all quite contradictory so now very confused. 

i would be very grateful if someone has an explanation on this as i am really at a loss to think what the answer could be.

The reason for the difference is just the difference/additional servicing requirements of the BMW engine over the earlier Toyota engine, however the BMW engine does not need a Full every service the schedule is:

1yr/12.5k Intermediate

2yr/25k Full

3yr/37.5k Full

4yr/50k Full

5yr/62.5k Intermediate

and repeat 3 full, Intermediate and 3 full.

Hi I've got 2016 Toyota Avensis Sports tourer fitted with a 2L diesel engine and Toyota service it at recommend intervals one full then one intermediate.my car is just short of 100k and I e just had a new DPF filter fitted as old one was blocked up,cost £1600!!!

But on the other hand it's vastly improved the mpg and oil consumption getting 50+ to the gallon now.
