Help with Yaris manufacturing date

Hi all. I am new to the club. I would like to ask for your help in spotting the exact manufacturing date of the Yaris car I have ordered (ordered through Toyota dealership in Geece) . It seems that the 10th digit if the VIN code of the car is 0 and as such I cannot identify the manufacturing date. The dealer says that it was built in 2020 but I cannot verify it through this VIN. Can anyone help?

Thank you!

Look at the back of various bits of plastic on the car. There's usually two clocks, one for month and the other for year, each with an arrow pointing to the date of manufacture. They won't be a guarantee of date of manufacture of the car, but will tell you the date of manufacture of that bit of plastic, that will give you an idea. With 'just in time' delivery of supplies it's usually very accurate, however with lockdown..................................?

Hi! It seems that the dealers (after-sales umits) have a system ("Techdoc3") that can identify the manufacturing date of the car even for VINs having 0 in the 10th digit (thanks Devon Aygo for letting me know).

Look at the label that's on the seat belt at the bottom of the B pillar..that will give you month and year.

EDIT....Oooops...apologies...I thought the car already existed

It should be an L, 10th digit being a zero is the preproduction vin

Hi Flash22! Do you mean that the Toyota Dealer actually sold me a pre-production car??? Is this legal? Because this is the VIN he sent to me... and it is supposed to be built in June 2020 as the Techdoc3 system reveals...

Will certainly check this once the car is delivered to me.

Once a new car is ordered a vin is generated for the build sheet in the factory before its actually built, your car then gets a slot on the production line

0 and o are not used for the final vin (10th digit) it is only used internally by the manufacturer

But the car was already built (3 june 2020) and was already imported when I purchased (few days ago) it and asked for its VIN. Shouldn't the dealer have sent me the final VIN? I am trying to figure out what happened and I am afraid if it is too late now...

I wouldn't worry about it, ask them to verify the vin on the car if they have the car in their possession or even take a pic

i forgot there was a change, so the 10th digit can be a Zero

Edit. The Eu directive doesn't require a 10th digit date code that's an American requirement
