Yaris Icon Hybrid service schedule

Can someone please tell me what is the service schedule for a Toyota Yaris ICON Hybrid?

We have just purchased this car new and I want to talk to the dealer about the cost of a service plan.

I have discovered the costs for intermediate (£165) and Full (£295) services but I can't discover which is due to be done when, nor what costly fluids are due at what services.

The car will only do around 5000 miles a year so it will be an annual service requirement.

I read in other posts that buying a service plan up front may be an expensive option so I want to be armed with the facts!

But I reckon it's probably worth having the car serviced by Toyota to maintain the Battery warranty which can go for up to 15 years, I see.

thanks

Within your service & warranty booklet, there is usually a service schedule. Intermediate services are due at 1 year/10,000 miles, 3 years/30,000 miles, etc. Full services at 2 years/20,000 miles, 4 years/40,000 miles, etc. Brake fluid changes are done during the full service.

Coolant change: first due at 10 years/100,000 miles, and thereafter every 5 years/50,000 miles.

The hybrid Battery is included within the 5 year/100,000 miles new car warranty. After the new car warranty, Toyota's hybrid electric service (term for hybrid service) extends the hybrid Battery warranty (1 year/10,000 miles) up to the car's 15th birthday. Note that if a service is carried out just before the car's 15th birthday, the final hybrid Battery extended warranty can go beyond 15 years.

A service plan needn't be expensive. What it does do is provide a fixed monthly payment to cover your servicing, and also protects you against rising servicing costs. I've had several service plans with Toyota and elsewhere, and if negotiated properly is no more expensive than the cost of servicing at the time the plan was taken out. Also one can build the cost of extras (eg. MOT) into a service plan.

Note that I reckon service costs may be due to increase next year.

After the car is five years old, currently one can join Toyota's 5+ Club which gives 20% off servicing and MOT's.

Thank you very much for that comprehensive reply.

I should have thought to look in the service book.....

The idea of a plan is attractive because it spreads the cost (and fixes the price).

Based on your information, I am now armed with sufficient facts to go and negotiate.

thanks
