Hi, our 1997 land cruiser struggles to tow our horse. The AT oil light comes on and it loses drive especially uphill. Has anyone got experience with fixing this?

Agree..^^^...could be the ATF is well past its best...check the ATF level...if it's black and has a burnt odour about it then it's ready for change.

ATF is usually cherry red in colour, i think you have checked the oil dipstick

Just to make 100% sure it's definitely an automatic ?

Yes, definitely automatic - for towing is it best to have overdrive off?
