Hey was just wondering how you get the main instrument cluster out from behind the steering wheel, I unscrewed everything but it wouldn't come out any further than a couple cm on the left, harldy any movement on the right. I can't seem to get behind it either. Is that what I need to do? Do I need to disable the airbag???! I've changed the lights in the centre and now they lookin quite sweet! But it's looking silly with two colours! This is the first car that I wanna mod so I'm new really to all this! Any help would be much appreciated!

CHEERS!

Hi,

I don't know too much about it but check out the old thread as there was some info on that there. A word of warning tho. If your looking to change the dash to any other colour than green it wont happen. One of the other lads tried to put blue lights in (like i want) and the centre console is perfectly reasonable to do but the dash dials are green tinted i.e. if you put a blue light in it will be a blue light with a green tint. and true for all other colours if you follow me. Hope this helps.

As i say look at the old thread to see more also try and pm one of the lads that tried it.

i would say you should unplug that negative Battery lead before doing anything on your car, this should disable the airbag, aswell as just about everything. Dunno about the dials though, they should come out pretty easy, make sure you removed all the screws, the dials are srewed into the facia individualy so you might wanna try unscrewing them from the facia and take it apart that way.

Also even if the dials are tinted even with a different colour bulb its gonna make some difference and look pretty unique, so go for it.

Cheers lads, I'll give it another go then.

when i changed the bulbs in my dasjh to blue it was a bit of a pain cos the dash wont come out. i used tiny pliers to hold the bulb and pull it out. also unscrewed the two end instruments. ie petrol and temp.not sure if yours is the same. hope this helps
