My 91 GT-R is a bit sluggish, not much response ( IMO) from a stand, seems mostly after starting. Is this normal for the Auto, or is there a likleyhood a problem.

The car seems to recover from this mostly, after the things warmed up. But from a stand its never quite what i think it should be.

Also I still dont know the difference in the settings on the 4WS.

Any comments very welcome :bookworm:

Oil seems fine. Engine runs smooth. No smoke. All seems great. Just to me the thing hangs about a bit. Once out and about its great. May be its a tuning issue with the low octane fuel on an import....I dont know.

Thanx for replying anyway.

In most cases auto's are slower off the lights than manuals because with a manual you can build revs up higher before the off and also autos usually have fewer ratios.

an auto gt-r (3sfe if im not mistaken) is 119bhp and the auto box is going to knock about a second off the 0-60 so realisticly your looking at 9secs or more :(

Sorry if that doesnt help but i dont think there is anything wrong with the car :)

the 4wheel steering settings,

iot should have a setting that switches the 4 ws off when you are in reverse to make reverse parking easier, and also a sports button that tightens and stiffens the steering,

for a more sports feel.

GT-R should be a 3sGE engine around 158bhp.

My old GT-R seemed sluggish till I got an induction kit on it which freed it up a fair bit.

hmmm, well if you want the response time increased, just fit induction kit and a full stainless & de-cat. i assume it has a kick down or sports mode?.

and it shouldnt be booted til its at normal operating temperature.

Many thanks all of you. Sounds ok. I'm less worried. I will get an induction kit, I put one on my Sera and it made a bit of difference. Does anyone know if a tuneup is needed for an import, cos of diff octanes or something.
