RAV4 White Smoke issue

I have a Rav4 2007 D-Cat , have had this awful smelling white smoke issue. Smells like a pungent half burnt diesel smell. Have had DPF cleaned, EGR valve cleaned, changed 5th injector, replaced fuel and air filters.......still white smoke, not always can go for a day no smoke then for no reason it smokes again. Almost like it’s re genning too often.  Took it to main dealers for diagnostic and they say the ECU has the latest program.......what else could it be I am snookered ..could it be the main injectors ???  Really need help please thanks

I had exactly this. Toyota couldn’t find it, twice. Eventually trusted independent found that the fifth injector was goosed. Rather than buying a new one, he coded it out (not done by your average tech, and apparently why Toyota “couldn’t “ find it). No real problem since then. (A minor smell of fuel when reversing, hope to address that next week). Good luck. Mine took well over a year to solve.
