Hi all. Got 2005 Yaris Verso 1.3 VVTI and im first time owner of any Toyota.

Car has 100k miles on it and I want to avoid unnecessary problems, after changing clutch and exhaust in 3 months since I bought it.

Engine sounds and feels pretty healthy and Im trying to figure the best way how to drive vvti engine.

Im all about economy, and I can reach kinda Impressive economy, If I drive in low rpms.

What RPMs are harming this kind of engine? I often drive on B roads in 1400rpms and car sounds and feels quite normal, even accelerating from these rpms isnt a problem at all.

I keep reading that these engines develop oil consumption after 100k miles, so I wouldnt want co cause any problems by driving it the way, which kills engine.

Tips about driving 1.3 VVTI engine for lasting long and good economy?

Cheers

It looks like your car has low km on it. I do not think your car will have problems in the future, because VTTI is the most reliable engine that Toyota makes. I think if you do the oil service at the right time, it will last.

im kinda confused, sometimes i see oil under the car, and mechanic already looked at it and didnt find the leak, thats why im trying to find best way if driving it, as already overspent, and last think i need is an engine problem. Im sure its not in top notch, just want daily driver without more spending

You can mabye plug a scan tool in and see the codes you have.

But i think the could just be something else. Mabye it could be water from the sky or something else.
