Auris seats. Cross compatibility?

I have a damaged fabric on the driver's seat back. The previous owner put an ugly iron-on patch there. I don't even know if that will allow the seat airbag to deploy properly. I searched online for replacement seats and find mostly, more of the same black fabric seats with the water stains from the Toyota fire retardant material. I already have stained seats - not terribly interested in buying more.

I got to thinking about the possibility of leather seats. Was there an Auris variant that had them? Or other there other cars from the newer generation with compatible seats?

There are vendors selling leather seat covers for the seats I already have. For example, https://www.theseatsurgeons.co.uk/shop/toyota-auris-bespoke-design-2/

Thanks if anyone can share their experience. Mine is a 2009 E150, the Auris 5-door.

Don't know how much you want to spend, but have you check with some local upholster about redoing the seats?

If you still want to replace seats, they might not be straight bolt on, you can modify the original rails, put an adapter, etc.

No, I haven't. Thanks for the recommendation.

What is really most important to me, is that the seat based airbags still work - when needed - exactly as it was specified by Toyota. That's what got me down the whole rabbit hole after all. The Toyota manual says not to put stickers for instance, on the steering wheel cover for introducing a risk for the bag to not inflate where and how and when it was designed to. And right now I have an iron-on patch near where the seat SRS is installed.

I have my doubts about whether an upholsterer will take into consideration the airbag deployment. What I started off looking for originally, was some kind of genuine Toyota part and didn't really find it. Instead I found the used seats, with the stains. Which, although it would meet my primary requirement, just seemed like a waste of money compared to leather for the same cost.

If there is a 100% compatible leather seat, then I will just keep shopping for that particular model being parted out.
