Prius Owner Demographics

I'm new to this forum and am just about to take the plunge and order! Just one slight concern - what demographic am i entering!? I'm a thirtysomething professional with young kids etc. I had a 'moment' in the dealership when seeing the previous test drivers and began to wonder if it is actually more of a 'chums trouser catalogue' type of car. This was further enhanced by the nursing home odour left in the demo car, presumably by the previous occupants.

None of this has put me off and the technical features and driving characteristics are top notch but it is still nice to know that a bus pass and season platform ticket are not mandatory!

I was comparing the car against a Honda Civic type S but thought the Prius was actually more fun and more interesting by a wide margin. I also managed an average of 57 mpg over an hour long test drive on country roads and A1, better than my current Audi A2.

PS: Don't take the stereotypes too seriously - just like to lighten the mood from time to time)

I read somewhere that the typical buyer would be mid forties, highly educated and above average earner.

Was a bit of a shock because that's me!

The recent Prius meet at Blechley Park had a mixture of folks there. Thirty somethings thru sixty somethings would be my guess by looking around.

BTW, if you haven't got a beard, youd better start growing one ready to take delivery of the Prius.
