2003 yaris won't start

I've a yaris that won't start showing a camshafts sensor circuit fault but new sensor and wires has been checked 

Has anybody had this before

Yea it was but I thought the car should should start witout the sensor just it should be running down in power

What codes do you have ? What engine and mileage ??

An obd 2 code is a symptom not a cause
