2003 Estima E-Four Hybrid Audio System

hi all! first post on the forum so bare with me!

i have just bought a 2003 imported Estima Hybrid with the old silver multi av station thingy in the dashboard, which shows you all the hybrid info as well as playing music etc, my question is probably really daft, but can this be removed and replaced with an aftermarket unit? or does the hybrid info have to be connected?

You can but you lose the hybrid info

im not too worried to be honest, i have torque pro which tells me all i need to know about the Battery etc via the ODB it's all in japanese anyway so it's only a case of looking at the pictures for me haha
