2015 Business edition plus 1.6 auto

I have given up looking for a 1.8 auto but there are plenty of 1.6 diesels about. I have reservations i.e. only 110BHP are these a bit underpowered? Also are these Toyota or BMW diesel engines and are they of good reputation or is the 2.0 a better bet?

Any views on these cars/engines are  welcomed as I know nothing about these diesels?

The Avensis used the N47 BMW diesel in both 1.6 and 2 litre forms from the March 2015 facelift.

Don't bother unless you doing 15K+ a year you will run into dpf issues, modern diesels hate short journeys

I drive a 2017 1.6 diesel business edition. I love the car but yes it is underpowered in certain situations. Doesn't bother me too much as I'm a 55 year old man and it offers me the economy, comfort and reliability I like (and I'm not interested in breaking land speed records 😏). It has the BMW engine. Best thing I can say about my 1.6........I'd happily buy another one.

Mmm.. I only do about 7k per year about half local journeys and half 500 mile round trips, mostly in summer. Perhaps a diesel is not best for my usage, maybe keep looking for a petrol BE Plus auto.

The BMW N47 has several well documented shortcomings. Do some research before you buy.

Dont touch them, total disaster, I bough Toyota avensis 2.2  business edition 4months ago nothing but trouble,
