Verso 2.2 d4d starter won’t engage

Hello,

I’m having problems with my 2007 d4d 2.2 verso.

When attempting to start the car , the starter doesn’t engage to start the engine.
The dashboard is going through all the procedures as if it’s going to start , but at the final point the starter doesn’t respond.

The garage has fitted a new starter, and checked earth wire connections etc.

Does anyone have any ideas ?
thanks in advance !

Had you checked the clutch switch?

Thanks for your reply,

The switch is turning the light on the ‘start/stop’ button from orange to green as normal so was assuming it was working correctly.
Are these known to give problems? I could try bypassing it with a bit of wire or something ?

cheers

I am not familiar with your start/stop. I assuming when you press the clutch down the light corresponded to that.

If that is the case, then that can't be the switch.

However, I had to  replaced a clutch switch on my 2010 verso when it was not starting.

Thanks again , yeah It certainly appears to be working fine , but I’ll  maybe have a look at it so at least I can rule it out

cheers
