I assume you want to do an oil change. The sump plug needs a 14mm socket/spanner. I have always used M12 fibre washer or the sump plug will leak. The oil filter is reached from below.

There are plenty of video on Youtube like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1rfG_M16os&ab_channel=DaringBeefcake

I once used a red fibre washer on my Corolla and the sump plug was loose when I came to change the oil the next time.  I don’t know what Toyota use on the Avensis, but hence I now always buy the aluminium washer from Toyota, it’s about a £1 but better than loosing all the oil.  However, I think that it was oldcodger who says he just reuses the old aluminium washer.

M14 plug and M12 aluminium or copper crush washer. I put 2-3 turns of PTFE tape on sump plugs to prevent possibility of weeping.

Oil filter is accessed from below. Use a filter cup tool.
