Engine sounds increasingly noisier reaching 50mph

I have recently bought a used Toyota Aygo (semi-auto) which I am very pleased with.   There is only one thing which bothers me  little, and that is, when i get near to 50mph the engine sounds quite a bit noisier.....   in the MOT which covers until August 2021 it gives advisory "Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases Central Front"... would this cause an increase in engine sound  ?  It is not present prior to nearing the 50 marker...

Hi Kaurene 👍I am by no means an expert but would say that yes that would cause it to be noisier the faster you go, also my other concern would be as it’s at the front of the exhaust that exhaust gases could be coming in to the cabin area, please don’t be alarmed by this comment and you can certainly still use the vehicle but I would look at getting this fixed ie repaired or replaced as soon as you are in a position to do so, I am sure others will respond to you’re post and advise 👍 cheers Paul
