Wet patch in drivers matwell

Hi. 2012 Avensis Estate. Lifted drivers side car mat and there is a wet patch on the car carpet running from the centre of the well to the side cill. Looked in as many places as I can, cannot see any water coming in anywhere.

Water is draining away ok from the plastic cill under the windscreen. 

Welcome any suggestions, before the garage rub their hands with a job that is as long as a piece of string.

First time I have heard about this with the T27 estate, owning one. You need to look under the carpet and trim. If you look up the pedal area, behind the trim where the bonnet release is located, to see if any water is running down from above. Gas the windscreen been replaced? Look in the corner near the A pillar. When I first changed the spark plugs 5 years back (Mine,s a Valvematic), I removed the wiper arms and the scuttle cover over the bulkhead. Mine was not too bad, but still had to clean area of debris and rubbish. I assume you have checked this area already, from your post above. Also look at the door seal.

Depending how damp or wet the area was, it is possible you are bring the water in and your rubber mat has cracks! I had mats deteriorate like this.
