Coolant for Avensis with 1WW/2WW engine

Hello,

I have 2016 Avensis with 1,6 l diesel engine from BMW (1WW). The owner's manual says to use Toyota Genuine Premium Long Life Coolant or equivalent. Toyota Genuine Premium Long Life Coolant isn't so easy to get here, so I'm wondering what is the other type of coolant that fits into that engine? I could imagine that it needs to be same colour as the original one (blue) and have the same technology (HOAT or OAT)...

Part number is 08889 - 80270 if you want to go to a motor factors they should be able to cross reference from this number. Available at all main dealers also.

Can anyone tell me what colour have that Toyota Genuine Premium Long Life Coolant (08889 - 80270)? Or what G code equivalent is, for exememple G11, G12, G13.. ?

I know that this is the original Toyota product but looking for an equivalent for this, from any other oil brands. I just want to know how to identify an equivalent oil who is suitable for my car (Avensis T27, 2.0 D4D, 143Hp)

I really would not recommend deviating from the genuine Toyota stuff when it comes to these BMW derived diesel engines in Toyota's. I wouldn't think it would make Toyota et. al. any more likely to cover an engine repair or replacement in the event of a massive failure before its time, but it might make some sort of difference to how the car runs and prevent a serious issue from bothering you. 

+1 for Burrows. Ordered from them a couple of times now since Toyota Direct Parts have a very odd policy of not shipping to N.I.  They're on Amazon too and have their own site, well worth checking on when you need something - even accessories.

I think I understand your question. The coolant is not made by Toyota. It is made in Germany just like the engine....I think I can read between the lines. You are walking in very dangerous water here.

 

 

But to be honest you still have 3 years left before Toyota recommend a coolant change. 10 years, then every 5 years. Val....
