Interior light

Hi guys, does anybody know how I get my interior light to stay on for a few seconds after getting in my car? It goes off immediately after shutting the car door and it's a little annoying trying to find the keyhole in pitch black. I have a 2018 aygo x-press.

Is this just how it is supposed to be as all the other cars I've had always has the light stay on for a while til you start the engine.

I fitted an eBay interior light delay module to my Aygo Blue (in fact I’m sure I did a pictorial write-up on the install in these forums but can’t find it!) which worked fine for a few weeks then the module failed and I just removed it.  They’re easy to fit to the door-activated switch wiring, but it’s easier to just keep the door ajar until you’ve put the key in the ignition.

edit:  Ok I’ve found the original thread, but the pictures are no longer present....

And if you are on a busy road and leaving the door ajar may be dangerous..... when you open the door and have light just reach for the light switch and move to “always on”,  do the fiddling you need to do, then reach to the switch and flick it off.  Simplistic solutions are often the best.
