correct engine oil ?

Hi, my wife has a 2016 Verso 1.6 petrol, it has done just over 12000 miles.

It is due for a service which I intend to carry out myself. It has done just under 2000 miles in 12 months so should I replace the engine oil and filter.

Also I have looked in our hand book and it recommends 0-w20, I have phoned two of nearby Toyota dealers for engine oil and filter, one said to use 5-w30 grade of oil, the other said to use 0-w20 as stated in the book? who is right or does it not make any difference.

0w 20 is the preferred grade, 5w 30 can be used, the 0w 20 is marginally better for fuel consumption. Like most manufacturers, the will be a choice of oils to use for various reasons, such as price and availabilty and cost
