OK this is probably somethin' that every 'seo does but when I switch the key to the "ON" position, theres a few click sounds, then a sort of electric motor sound, it happens after the key has been in the ON position for a few seconds, and it doesn't matter if the car is started or not! Just wondering what it is?!! Can anyone tell me?!PLEASE!?

i wish i had an engine in mine to make any !Removed! sounds.

I think it might be the air-con, has your car got air-con?

Posted

dont know what it for sure but ithink its just got summin to do with electric stuff like the window motors starting up, if not windows summin elctrical. But i would say its defiantly meant to happen.

my air con runs on engine like the power steering, and wont come on untill engine is on so wouldnt have thought its that.

Good point, it's not the air-con then.

Mine hasn't got air con no, I lifted the hood and saw the sound is comin from an elctrical boxy thing (Dense I know) infront of the power steering fluid. Oh well as long as everyone elses does the same! Cheers fellas

could be the fuel pump?

Posted

Yeah, could be. When you first turn the ignition on the fuel pump fires for a few seconds, priming the ignition system for start up. Could just be a control relay for this.
