After picking up some advice yesterday, I decided to pick up my PS2 controller. Trying to differences between the 2 MR2s (MKII) on Gran Turismo 3.

So I bought a G-limited and a GT-Turbo (the only two MKII's on the game).

Changed the oil in them both (optimum bhp), and took them too the test course.

Note: this is only a game, but it is fairly accurate. I didn't modify either of them.

0-400m sprint - Turbo won by just over 1 second.

0-100m sprint - again Turbo won by just over 1 second.

Top speed trial. G-limited I got to about 162mph. The Turbo however got to 150mph and then cut out and started to rev up again. Obviously the G-limited version took longer to get to 150mph and it took another half a lap to reach 162mph. Although this is only a game though, does the Turbo have a cut off at certain speeds?

The G-limited wouldnt be able to reach 162,max is probably 145 at the very limit. The turbo is limited at 155mph due to gearing (redline in 5th), it should pull strongly all the way up to that though.

Thought so. Any of you guys changed your gear ratios?

I doubt anyone on here has, its more likely that someone on the american mr2 board has though since they love rebuilds over there. Wish turbos had 6 gears as standard!!
