Toyota Auris 1.6 valvematic valve lift controller

I have an ongoing problem with my toyota auris 1.6 petrol 2011. When i drive the engine light comes on and I lose power to the point that the car only drive at 20miles per hour. Have to switch off and on the engine before I can have normal drive. This happens unexpectedly so I cannot explain why. When  put on the diagnoses it read that It has a valvamatic valve issue. Please help as i have no idea how to proceed as this happens once in a while but to often.

Sadly common issue with your model and that year. Fix is to replace the controler, but it's very expensive.
You can check on topic below, last poster is thinking about fixing it, but in his case the codes show it's an electrical issue, so it might be possible.
