When you fit 17" alloys to the MR2 does it raise the car slightly or is it exactly the same ride height as before just less tyre wall? Or would it look like it would need lowering?

The ride height should be exactly the same if the correct profile tyres have been chosen but apparently it "looks" like they need lowering. Im gettin 17s at the end of this month too n worried bout the same thing, I diddotn wanna on convert my 2 into a 4x4 lol

You have to tell your insurance company if you are lowering the car which I found out it is an extra £200 odd squid! :ffs: When I declared I was going to buy 17" alloys they said it was ok and that a small admin charge would occur to my certificate information about the modification. <_<

The thing i've had a turbo and a G-limited imports before and after seeing the UK models my imports were definately lowered, but not by a huge amount and I didn't declare this to the insurance company because in truth I didn't realise it had been done. Now you could say I didn't know it was lowered, all I noticed it had bigger aftermarket wheels when I bought it which made it look different. I mean lets face it not everyone in the UK is a car buff and probably don't really know what they are declaring to the insurance companies about their cars anyway.
