is the 3S-GTE a none interferance engine?? Freinds cambelt just went!!!!

Basicly is a mate of mines car. its a yellow rev 1 mr2 tubby.

she says she was not going fast, and didnlt hear any untoward clanks... the belt went because it had had a coolant leak on it for ages and perished.. aparently.. I have no seen it, just been told on msn!!!

Cam belt isnt a tough job for a pro. If you have the guts to remove the cam cover then you should have the guts to go the whole way with it.

I've heard that if you have small fingers and patience you can do the job without removing the engine as toyota do when they have a car in for the belt to be changed

CAmbelt is not hard at all in itself.. I have never done an mr2 and have heard rumours about the engine comming out.... She's a girly girl that doesn't DIY so shes getting it done for her anyway...

Probe V6 cambelt... now thats a pain in the rear

as long as she wasn't going too fast then there should be no serious damage.
