Toyota Yaris 2009 MMT drive semi-auto

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Toyota Yaris MMT 2009. I noticed the drive is a bit jerky and the revs to change gears very from 2500-4000 RPM.

I’ve never driven an automatic or semi auto before but in comparison to my manual car it’s a complete waste.

I was wonder is this normal for the car to change gears at high revs? It’s very inconsistent sometimes it'll transition smoothly no problem at all.

I’d appreciate some feedback form any yaris owners with the same car.

thanks,

jay

Jay, not good news I`m afraid.

Read ALL of this and don`t overlook "good/bad" section.  https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/toyota/yaris-2006/

I’ve read it but I wanted to know if this is a normal behaviour from the car?

I had one for a weekend once Jay. It was a diesel and it behaved impeccably whilst I had it.

However there have been so many complaints that Toyota withdrew it from the market. As did Honda with its iShift version, and other major manufacturers too. VW is still coming to terms with its DSG auto system failures. The Honest John column has been the most responsible motoring column for years and has documented ALL of its readers reported problems

If you bought it from a Dealer within the last 6 months then it is their problem to resolve.
