Hi. Seen the last morning my 2019 Corolla showed a Key Fob Battery low warning. Car is only a year and 8 months old. It has the keyless entry. Never seen a keyfob Battery go so fast. Anyone replace theirs yet?

If you press and hold the lock button then press the unlock button twice the key will go into sleep mode you should see the red light flash twice this is Battery saving mode. But you won’t be able to use the smart unlock system ie you won’t be able to unlock the car by grabbing the door handle I think the smart unlock only applies to the excel once you unlock the car the remote reverts to transmitting again until you do what I have said previously.

the Toyota dealers replace the fob Battery every second main service. I never had the Battery replace message on the auris had that 5 years.

Rosgoe is correct on this. The key fob is continuously transmitting the signal hence why the Battery may not be lasting so long. This is great for the thieves with a scanner that can pick up this signal from the key fob in an attempt to steal your car. I always  used to put both my keys in a Faraday pouch so any thieves could not intercept the signal on my previous Auris Excel.

Thanks for the replies. Changed the Battery anyway. Very simple job. But the Faraday pouch is definitely a good purchase. I got two after I bought the car. One for the main set and another for the spare, just incase any thieves got a signal off the spare set
