Updating X-Nav maps - what happens to the old Micro SD card?

Hi, I just bought a 2015 Aygo that has X-Nav maps.  The micro SD card in the glovebox says Q2 2016 so am thinking of getting a more up to date maps from eBay for £40 but what do I do with the old SD card when I get the new one and insert that?  Does the old one become useless then or could I sell it on?

You could advertise it on an auction site such as eBay (other sites are available), or reformat it and use it as a normal micro SD card.
