Aygo Headlights RHD to LHD Conversion?

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a late 2018 Aygo 1.0 VVT-i X-Play 5dr [X-nav] and am loving it.  I have been offered a job in Belgium and plan to take the car there where I shall have to put it through the equivalent of an MOT before re-registering it on Belgian plates. Please can someone tell me whether I must replace my RHD headlights with new LHD-spec ones or whether there is simple way of changing the beam pattern that is legal on the Continent? (Stickers are not acceptable to get through the Belgian light test.)  One Toyota dealer has just told me that the RHD lights are acceptable as is and another has advised me to order new headlamps and have them fitted. I hope someone can help with a definitive answer please?

The RHD lamps will need switching for LHD alternatives also the rear lamps will need switching and rewiring as in UK our rear fog light is on the RHS and it needs to be LHS on the continent

Thank you. That is very helpful. Presumably, my dealer could just add an additional rear fog light on the LHS so the car would have two and be compliant with the EU and UK?

The fog light and reversing light occupy the same place in the clusters so it's not possible to have two rear fog lights whilst retaining a reversing light with only OEM light clusters.

I doubt a Toyota dealer would be willing to fit an additional aftermarket rear fog light, you would most likely need to find an auto electrician to do it for you.
