2.2 d4d fuel pressure control valve/ high fuel consumption

Hello,

I am the owner of 2009 Avensis Wagon- 2.2 D4D 150hp with ~300tkm. Last summer my Avensis started to sometimes light up check engine, vsc and abs lights and they would stay on for a day or two, after which everything started to again work normally. When this happend third time we talked about this problem with our mechanic(not dealer) who said that this is a common problem with 2.2 D4D when they reach ~250tkm, he was talking about fuel pressure control valve. The part was replaced but car after reaching highway speeds would instantly go into limp mode and light up before mentioned lights. After this we returend the old fuel pressure valve in the car, and after that car is working normally but the average fuel consumption has increased from around 7 l/100km to 8.3 l/100 km. 2 Toyota dealers have inspected the car since and they can not find any faults with the car, nor the solution other then replacing the part. If anyone had the same problem or may know the solution please help.

Possibility, but car is mostly driven on open road and passed MOT few days ago and emissions were normal, a little bit higher than last year but a lot lower than limits. If DPF regeneration has started shouldnt there be a light on a dashboard?

Also have a 2AD-FTV and the valve on its own will not do much, you need to upgrade firmware to increase the pressure on the rail, not sure the specifics. Hope this helps.
