Retrofit Cruise Control (Import)

Hi,

I have a 2014 Toyota Hybrid (import), and I saw this thread:

So I contacted the local (ish) Toyota garage, and they said they can't retrofit a cruise control afterwards? If that's the case, how have people managed to put cruise control in?

A dealer will not be interested, dealers haven't got the time or expertise to deal with such a request

Fit a stalk and see if it works, if not trace the wiring, - the main issue is, knowing if it's programmed into the ecu

All you need is the stalk, loom and cover for the wheel

there is a guide on the PriusChat forums based on the US cars, so parts may be different

Thanks. I saw this:

And they said it fits my car based on the car reg. Would I not need any wiring? Or any form of programming?  May I ask what the loom and cover is? 
Looking at that PDF, it looks like it is just like the one on eBay? It isn't OEM, but I can't find any OEM versions 😞

No, The loom is included in that listing. the cheap stalks can be a bit hit and miss tbh, the factory ones are expensive tho, programming - it should be plug and play

 

If you look on page 4 of that pdf you can see the black cover/surround

Thanks. I mean I'd rather not have it go wrong, but I can't seem to find any factory originals about, other than ones possibly imported from another country like the US or Australia. Is there any shop that I could go to for that?

A quick look on the epc show these 2 numbers for the stalk

 

84632-34011  (more common)

or

84632-58011 (has the extra "mode" function

Trim/cover

I've looked up what the "mode" function does but can't seem to find anything except for people just talking about regular adaptive cruise control
