Battary replacement and radio codes

Does toyota yaris (2013) car battary change/replacement would need radio codes?

I have jump started my car previously but it did not ask for any radio codes. So, conceptually, it should  not ask for radio code when I replace the Battery. I also read somewhere  that new toyota cars do not have these radio code! However, the older one used the last three digits from the VIN or "320" as default.

I am confused. Thanks for any help.

No radio code at all?

We had a Fiat, and to all intents and purposes, there was "no radio code" but in fact there was.  The code was stored in the car's ECU, so if you removed the Battery, the code was still stored, so you had no issues when replacing it.

If you moved the radio to another car, you would then need the code.

Is the Yaris like that?

No code at all, you will just lose all the pre sets, which you can obviously reset after changing the battery

No. No code, and they are not "married" to the ecu/becu what requires divorce before removal/replacement or "coding"

Thanks.

Good info, and something worth knowing.

No code needed

No, but as Kingo has written earlier, any preset radio stations will be lost. Don't know with an Aygo, if there's a clock, the time will probably require a reset too.
