asked a mate to check my Cynos over and tune up b4 JAE

was running too rich & the idle time needed sorting

id warnded him the Fan belt might need sorting, (started squeeling just when i start the car.)

but also apparently need the cam belt done - Mr T has to ship from Japan :ffs: :ffs:

now carless & might not make JAE :(

Why do you need to get a cambelt from Japan? What engine have you got in your car?

I always thought most of the cambelts were the same, i.e. a 4EFTE will fit a 4EFE or a 5EFE... I've got a cambelt from a 1.6 Corrolla on my Starlet turbo and it’s exactly the same as the original one on the Starlet.

Basically all engines with the E series engine share the same cambelt - Starlet Turbo, Paseo, Sera.

Try any of the motor factors mate definitely the same as UK Paseo. And if the dealer tells you different he's talking b :censor: s. ADL Blueprint part no is ADT37527, don't worry I've been in the motor trade 16 years so I have looked the right part number up

Give any ADL stockist this number and they can sort you out. Couple hour job for timing belt at most. Don't accept defeat now :P

on the box that my gates powergrip cam belt came in it listed all the engines that it would work on and it said 4EFE only.

i think the one for the 5efe is different, probably 1 or 2 teeth longer?!? i would expect that you would be able to get one from the motor factors pretty easily.

nothing yet mate - apparently parts wern't in stock anywhere

found a few other things that need sorting too - might as well get a new engine at this rate
