Avensis recall

Yesterday, because I couldn't be bothered running up the stairs, I did an online check to see when my MOT was due.

And, according to the government website there is a re-call due on my car.  So, I phoned the local Toyota dealer today and I was told something about a detachable towbar that needs to be looked at.

Doesn't anybody have any more detail on it?

It seems from the link that it could be one of two re-calls, maybe even both of the towbar re-calls?

The funny thing is, these re-calls are both from 2012 and this car was in for the air-bag re-call 18 months ago.  I wonder why the towbar thing wasn't done at that time.

Could be worth asking your Toyota dealer to check the car's history to see whether the recall has already been done.

I gave him the reg number this morning, he checked and said the re-call needs done.
