The metal ecu is from NCP130 with a 4 speed automatic (2NZFE) 10/2017 onwards

Yours is A NSP150 Cvt same setup as a Vios (1NRFE) its based on the earlier car 2014 - 10/2017

The small black module starting 88650- is the Air Con amplifier (controls the AC)

Edit. The only car i can find in the uae is a vios / yaris 4 door with the correct combination

Ecu is listed as a 89661-0U440

Ah that is a very useful nugget of information.  Hopefully I can go around the vios and yaris yards next weekend to find that engine ECU.  The yard I bought the metal one from had others hanging on a piece of string from the ceiling and they said they would refund or exchange if it was the wrong type.

I also wanted to ask you if the Driving Support ECU was likely to be a factor, given that your earlier diagram showed this is where the cruise loom goes to?

Cool.  I'll let you know what i find then.

Thanks.  You've been enormously helpful.

I expanded the dates after 10/2017 Laos and ASEAN specs had cruise related ecu's are 0U350 and 0U360

i will have todo a bit more digging and see if i can find a vin for a sport packaged car

Hi flash22.

Having been back to the scrapyards, I am struggling to find the 89661-0U440 ECU you mentioned.  Even the main Toyota importer (Al Futtaim) doesn't have that available as a new part, which suggests it might be known as a different part number here in the UAE.

However I notice from an earlier post you mentioned the 0U350 and 0U360 ECUs.  Are they compatible with the 1NRFE / CVT combination and would they be the same physical connections as the 0U270 that I am trying to replace?

I may need to expand the search to include other part numbers, so do you have any other suggestions I could try?

Another thought is do you know if it is possible to re-flash the firmware for the existing 0U270 with the firmware for a "full option" model?

i couldn't tell you about the flashing - its done by vin and calibration files

it starts getting difficult to find the numbers as there is no way to filter the spec that have cruise and what ecu that model/spec has without looking at each car's model code

but i may have a way..........................

Edit. Found the G spec cars these are usually the high spec ones, in the last column is a Category A, B and C not sure what these signify (note this is the 4 door saloon)

CC models 4 doors

CC models 5 Doors

CC model GCC  4 door

So from that we can see that only the higher spec models got CC from 10/2017

Thanks for looking into that.  The last column seems to correlate with the first letter of the model number after the hyphen.

Clever... well done!  So now is there a way to find out which ECU(s) part numbers were fitted to these models?

Just on it, as you can see the stalk is only fitted to the 4 door 2018 onwards - Model Code. NSP150L-CEXGKV

89661-OU440

The Laos and ASEAN cars have the model number NSP150L-AHXGK 10/2017 onwards

89661-0U350

Ok thanks.

So we seem to be limited to the 0U350 and 0U440.

I will continue looking.  Thank you.

Do you know the difference between the AH and the CE in the model numbers?

I think the 10/2017 4 door ASEAN/LAOS model numbers are closest to mine.

NSP150L-AHXGKV ECU: 89661-0U350

(Mine: NSP150L-AHXRKV)

It might be necessary to order these from overseas.  Does your system show which countries actually have stock?

Its only a catalogue it just a matter of looking around the net

The model number is - the model code eg. NSP150L - followed by the specifications eg. AHXGKV

as far as I can work out................

1. A - Category - Model name

2.H - Body - 5 door

3.X - Gearbox - Cvt

4.G - specification or grade

5.K - Engine type

6.V - Location - Middle East

Edit.

Tbh i have only just look into the exact meaning of the full model codes - so i learnt something new today

I'm drawing a blank on both of those part numbers.  Scrapyards don't seem to have them and I can't even look them up on parts.toyota.

https://parts.toyota.com/p/71697520/896610U350.html

https://parts.toyota.com/p/71697520/896610U440.html

The local dealer doesn't have them listed either.  Is it possible those parts are superceded?

Even the part I was holding in my hand isn't listed

https://parts.toyota.com/p/69106459/896610U270.html

Amazon and eBay have nothing.  Not sure where to go from here.

Very gratreful for the link.  Good spot, but unfortunately not showing by the time I got to it.

I did, however, find this on the same site: https://shopee.com.my/Ecu-Computer-Computer-Toyota-All-New-Yaris-Vios-Limo-89661-0u410-Original-i.358131018.5881695115

Physically identical to the one I have.  It's the closest I could find right now.  You think this is compatible?

What country are you in ? 4 or 5 door ? What's the part number on the ecu ?

I didn't trace the wiring at the ECU to discover which pin the Cruise Control is connected to.  All I know is it is definitely connected because I can measure volts at the cruise control stalk.

I have feelers out with contacts in Malaysia and Indonesia to try and locate the 0U350 ECU but no luck yet.  I can't understand why it is so obscure.  Nothing else came up on the Shopee site.

@flash22 still trying to find the 89661-0U350 or 0U360 but although it is listed on a few sites, I cannot find it anywhere.  With that being said, a number of listings have mentioned an alternative for the 1NRFE/CVT combination: 89661-0DX00.  For example: https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dlya-avtomobilej/toyota/yaris-echo-vios-limo-42478/nsp150-56068/nsp150l-ahxgk-938869/electronic-fuel-injection-system-18071409#/il-417775289-10836323-10836323

I hope you won't mind me asking for your further advice, but do you think this would be compatible?

89661-0DX00 and 0DX20 do not support CC

it's the 0U350 that does

At this point, i would be looking at aftermarket CC systems that use the oem stalk

@flash22I am pleased to report that the Toyota main importer/dealer in the UAE has agreed to order the 89661-0U350 new, from Japan.  It's a little pricey but not as much as I expected so I think I will go for it.

They have said (understandably) that without a VIN (chassis) number, they cannot guarantee that it is compatible with my vehicle.

On that subject, I did find the 0U350 listed in this online catalogue:  http://general.toylexparts.com/decode/pr_num/896610U350

On this page, there are a long list of links to the YARIS covering different model periods.

The first and second links refer to the Toyota YARIS - NSP150L-AHXGK. (which is the one you found - higher spec g with cruise control).

The third and fourth links refer to the Toyota YARIS - NSP150L-AHXRK. (which is my model - already fitted with the 0U270).

Not being an expert on these catalogues, does this mean that the 0U350 is considered to be a suitable replacement for both models?

The 0U270 has 5 white loom connectors and so these should be the same on any replacement.  I've searched but cannot find any actual pictures of the 0U350.

What do you think?
