Yaris door lock not working

As the title says, in my 2012 Yaris the door lock is not working either with the remote or the key. When i turn the key the lock mechanism (in all four doors) tries to move to the open position but then half way returns to the close position. Same thing happens with the remote.

My technician says that the problem lies with the door handle which cannot be replaced since it is hidden behind the metallic casing of the door meaning that the whole door needs to be replaced. Could this be the only solution? Is there no way to replace the door handle without replacing the door?

Yes you can replace the lock, bolts are in the end of the door - is it a mk2 or mk3 yaris ?

Does your interior light work correctly ?
