New Rims And Tires

Hey All,

I was wondering if anyone knew the make and model of the rims and tires in the pics taken at the 2004 new york auto show. Link( HalfGas ). Also if i were to change the tire and rim size how would that change the MPG and handling of the 2004 prius?

i wouldnt do that if i were you.

Let me explain. You probably bought Prius for 2 main reasons.

1. it is very economical

2. it is hi tech.

Toyotas engineers have calculated a lot of tire sizes and rims in order to finalize their decision. They know better.

But for the record, Prius in USA has different rims and tires than the one in Europe.

If i am not mistaking Prius in USA utilises 15 inch rims whereas in Europe 16 inch.

I believe that 195/55/16 tyres are best for this car.
