Gear selector seal replacement

I am replacing my Auris d4d selector seal. I have stripped everything from the shaft except the last section. Usually there is a pin holding the unit to the shaft. With this auris, there is none. There is a round bolt at the top that is painted yellow and then nothing else, no pin or bolt. Do i turn the unit or what. I need help please.

It should be a pin with a nut on the other side that goes through the shift lever

A pic would help

what diesel is it 1.4, 2.0 or 2.2 ?

I checked everywhere, no pin. It seems that there is thread at the bottom of the selector. I dont want to turn it as I might damage something inside. I did crank it a little but no success.

Wow... thanks, So basically I need to remove the 4x bolts at the top, remove the whole selector shaft to replace the seal? I almost tried pulling the selector off with a bearing puller.

  • 6 months later...

See the PDF in the above post, you need to pull the shaft from the box, strip it down to get at the seal and re-assemble
