If you do it from home you'll have to pay tax though.

I'd go to Saudi. Accomodation, car etc all free. No beer to spend all your cash on . (don't shoplift though).

1 year will fly by too.......It would be a good move.!

Er, no...

I'm not talking about the weather or anything like that. My father worked in Saudi for years until the late eighties. Even then things were kind-of tough and sometimes quite scary. I should also stress that we were very well protected as he had a very important and influential sponsor and a very senior position within the Saudi banking world.

If you go then it promises to be fantastic (and I'm completely ignoring the financial side), but it could be awful. People either love it or hate it.

Just be careful and don't only think of the money - they're not paying that much because people want to be out there, and there must be good reason for that.

the most important question you need to ask, is will the flat be on a British compound...

Personally, if it isnt, walk away...

no, you are correct.

Without going into too much detail, basically my Dad is being given rather large bonuses because he's still there, loads of people have left due to the bombings.

It is not a safe place to be a brit at the moment..

Why do you think they are offering so much money vmail???

everything the lads are saying is correct.

over the last nine years i have psent a lot of time over there with the military, not saying much else about the job, but the general country etc is in a mess mate, you will be constantly watching your back as a brit.

there are both pro's and con's as there is with any job, first thing to check is that your accomodation will be within a british compound and not in any of the main towns. you need some sort of security around you while you are there.

as previously posted if you want a more indepth chat PM me

Even in 1997 I was offered $10000/pm tax free and all the perks, but I was too chicken to go work over there. I just would not want to be caught up in any war...especially over there.

look at it this way,you go over there do ya job come home with say 25000 cos u dont have anything to pay for,you come back buy better car insurance etc or even use it as a deposit for a house??

all this talk about war etc, like they have said if its on a british compound you've more chance of being safe.

Plus i think you will get protection and everythings slowing down!

GO FOR IT

all I ask is that you are not teaching english, please say that??

You and only you can make that sort of descision, the money is not fantastic if you look at what you could earn here with the tax taken away, the amounts are not that different, it is just that we are taxed to the hilt and it looks to be getting worse.

Could you face being away from your friend and family??
