Hi, picked up my Corolla TS today. It's 2020 model and has Android auto already installed.

Went for the Design trim and have to say I was very impressed with how it drove on the motorway but it was just me in the car.

I do have many questions and the first one is what does the "B" mean on gear shifter and when is it used?

Thanks

Congratulations 👏

good choice. What colour did you pick, you can share some photos if you want .👍 The B on the gear shift is for engine braking while going downhill, like keeping in low gear on manual cars or overdrive on older automatics. It charges the Battery too. Use when going down step hills and your battery charge is at low level and you don’t want to use the brakes all the time. It’s Recommended  not to drive the car in B every time as there is no need and does stress the hybrid system plus it’s not more efficient.

Will post pics but awful weather atm. Its solid white. It seems previous owner applied supaguard on interior and bodywork nice bonus.

It was 18,495 with only 1,000 miles on it, seemed an excellent deal.

B mode (engine breaking) is very useful when you see “select low gear” on steep hills. 😄

congratulations on your new car. You will love it.

Did you add any sill plate or protectors? I can see mine is all exposed white paint and can imagine people constantly scraping it getting in an out including myself.

You can buy clear vinyl which can be cut to the size & shape of the sill. I’ve seen it for £5-10 on eBay, much cheaper than £100+ for sill protectors from Toyota
