Well I eventually took delivery of the car today and just had a stress free 30 mile drive back. I am in lockdown in Greece and I have bought the new C-HR 1.8 Hybrid.

On a walk round with the salesman he said I must turn of the blower fan before I shut the car down. If I understood him correctly, he said in broken english that it messed up the electronics but he didn't know why.

I can may be understand why as the blower can become a generator freewheeling without power and it may cause a voltage spike. I would have thought Toyota would have dealt with such a problem. Has anyone else come across this instruction?

Also I need an english written handbook if any can help or point me in the right direction. I was promised one but I have a sneaky suspicion that it isn't going to appear.

Just found that thank you, but 816 pages is quite some paper and ink cartridges. I suppose I can get rid of a lot the crpa! or learn to read Greek😁

Hi, I am not aware of anything about blower fan, when you turn off the car the blower stops immediately and if not for any reason then it is a fault with the car and should be fixed under warranty. There are only issues with 12v Battery on all Toyota hybrids and ch-r are widely involved, best to read about that problem as it’s real. Short advise here., if you don’t drive the car on daily basis 30+ min each time you use , and if you only drive occasionally especially during lock down you have to keep the car in ready mode with all electronics off including blower motor for 46-60 min once a week. , to maintain 12v Battery. If you do this or use the car regularly especially on long drives your car batteries will be good to 2030 and longer  👍
