Hello,

I own a Toyota Yaris 2015 ascent hatchback  (manual)model with 50,000kms on the clock.

The car was serviced a couple of weeks ago through the dealership .

When putting into first gear there is a noise .It’s only the first gear,it’s like a whinging noise. This has started a few days ago.

What is causing this to happen? Please explain.

Kind Regards

That can happen because there could be a low level of transmission fluid. Check it.

Hi,

if you can make a video to share what is the noise and when exactly happens will be helpful and some more suggestions might come up. Usually whining noises from transmission comes from worn bearings or worn gears. Sometimes can be just as noted low oil level, perhaps there is an oil leak or just deteriorated oil, which would be a surprise at such a low miles. Best to take the car to the dealer that was serviced and you can request to be checked there.
Good luck

5th or 6th is the first to whine as it's at the end high up

check the obvious first, make sure the mat(s) hasn't moved up behind the pedal, move it to second then into first and see if that makes a difference, when was the clutch last bled/fluid changed ?

Tony - have a look at the OP's other Post - main stealer wanted $500 AUD (£250) for a water pump plus labour !!
