Dumped the crud (rusty) Toyota strut x-bar and got my local metal work genius to create a stainless steel version with the extra strut link.

And test fitted (placed) the catch tank though this one will be tricky with no room available!

The price for them both was unbelievable!!!

what's a catch tank?

It connects to the PCV port on the cylinder head and takes oil vapour out of the engine and lets any oil residue collect in the bottom of the can instead of feeding through to the inlet.

They also look good :)

Rikki,

Do you have any rough running with your SSQ dump valve? I was thinking of putting one on mine, but I've heard so many stories about 2's going nuts with them on, I haven't bothered.

Thanks in advance.

Not had any issues with it at all, what have you heard about them?

I know getting it to mate to the pipe was tricky as you need to test fit it then tighten it up (or it can sit at a slight angle and cause leakage).

Im also running a rev 3 with a map sensor and not an AFM.

Heard tht they cause rough idling, and that they make the mixture go from weak to ultra rich and can cause damage.

Mine's a 1990 rev1 withan AFM so may only apply to those.

AHHH SOD IT! I'm gonna lash the cash an' get one anyway.

Jus' gotta have the PSHHHHTTTT!!!!

afm cars i.e. rev1 & 2 they slow the car down as they f up the fueling, will damage engine over time, basically you'll shouldn't do it, they need re-circ dump valves

Jimlad runs his BOV on a rev1 tubby no probs due to chip. Tis really just a fuelling issue which a chip would sort out...if its programmable.
