Hi,

i have a 51-reg 2.0 avensis cdx, the car is fantastic but the only problem i have is, when the back wheels go over a bump or a hole in the road the car jums and is unstable at thr rear  . This happens with the vsc on or off. I have a 1997 1.8 CD toyota carina and the ride at the back is far much better than my new avensis. Dose anyone know what the problem is please or is the car just like that????.

thank for the help

There could be something, but I must say the ride is far less composed over bumps than my Nissan Primera that I used to have, and my Avensis doesnt ride bumps as well as a couple of saloons I have been in, so perhaps the hatch ones are a bit more twitchy, but it's probably just the design of the car, mainly because they tried to improve the hanlding at the expense of ride, one of the few things Toyota has yet to master is a good balance of both which is one thing the Primera's always used to have.

My dad used to have a CarinaE Exec and that did ride a bit smoother but didnt handle as well as the Avensis, which itself is no sports car.
